TOOLS & CONTEXT

What else could that money do?

Compare the practical differences between football cards and familiar financial benchmarks before considering a price chart.

A qualitative comparison, without an invented return history.

The available card and benchmark snapshots do not establish a verified, compatible current performance series after card costs. We do not claim outperformance or interpolate a history to fill the gaps.

U.S. fixed incomeDepends on the bond or fund and market conditions.Yield, maturity, credit quality and interest rates affect pricing.Spreads, fund expenses if applicable, and tax treatment.
BitcoinDepends on exchange access, market depth and custody arrangements.Exchange quotes can differ and move rapidly.Trading spreads, exchange/network fees and custody.
Cash / Treasury billsDepends on account terms or the security’s maturity and trading access.Account balance or a quoted security price.Account fees, opportunity cost and applicable taxes.

Include the friction.

A quoted card price is not the amount you will necessarily receive. Compare acquisition costs, selling costs and the time needed to find a buyer. The same dollar cannot be allocated to every alternative at once.

Card collecting also has personal value. That value belongs in your decision, but it is separate from a measured financial return.
